Obituary Danville Commercial News

Mrs. Josephine Evelyn Holden, 75, of Hillery, died at 4 a.m. Thursday (September 28, 1950) at Lake View Hospital where she had been taken one hour previously.

She was born Nov. 19, 1874, in Indiana, the daughter of John and Mary Catherine Fish Hughes.

Surviving her are four sons, Harvey, Thomas, Clarence and Charles, all of Danville Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Scott and Mrs. Naomi Lane of Danville Route 1; three grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Ora Hughes of Danville. Her husband, Charles, and a sister preceded her in death.

The body will be taken from the Berhalter Funeral Home to the Hiller residence Friday morning where it will remain until funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evangelical United Brethren Church at Hillery. The Rev. Mr. Van Wey of Marshall will officiate. The Rev. Ernes Nickoson, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, will assist in the services. Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery.
