  	HEGLAR, Dorothy Elizabeth (Age 90) St. John homemaker, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 18th, at the Whitman Health & Rehab Center in Colfax. She was born August 22, 1915 in Danville, Illinois to Paul & Margaret Hughes. Her family moved to Seattle and following high school Dorothy took business classes for a couple years. She worked as a secretary for the King County Commissioners. Dorothy met Raymond Heglar while he was employed for Boeing during World War II and the couple married in Seattle July 25, 1943. They returned to Ray's hometown of St. John in 1945 and began farming. They farmed near St. John until their son took over the operation in 1992. Dorothy was actively involved in establishing the Catholic Church in St. John and a special moment in her life was seeing the Pope during a trip to Italy. She enjoyed playing bridge and bowling but her greatest joy was her family and functions with them. She is survived by her husband, Ray, at the family home in St. John; sons Bill (Connie) Heglar of Bellevue and Paul (Susan) Heglar of St. John; her grandchildren, Jeff Heglar, Jay (Kim) Heglar, Allison (Rick) Sherwood and Jon (Rachel) Heglar and one great-granddaughter, Ava Marie. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Hughes. Recitation of the Rosary will be Wednesday, Feb. 22nd at 5:30 in the chapel of Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Feb. 23rd at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in St. John. Vault interment will follow at the St. John Cemetery.
